In 2013 after obtaining my second bachelor’s degree, in Psychology, I began my profession in the child welfare field as a licensing counselor for a faith-based child placement agency known as His House Children’s Home in Miami Florida. After 2 years with my agency, I knew there was a larger impact I wanted to make. There were insufficiencies that I saw in the field which weren’t being addressed as strategically as I felt they should have been. I also know that I would have to take a non-traditional track to do so. At this point, I moved back to Mississippi and got immediately active in developing myself into a social entrepreneur before I even realized it.
After developing the proper relationships, obtaining the right mentorship, and aligning myself with a successful business coach I was able to start five different social businesses, a non-profit organization, and three different mentoring programs over the past 3-5 years.
I want to help you make your transition into the social entrepreneurship space and take you from where you are to running a profitable social business with social impact at its core.
In 2020 I was able to help 12 individuals become business owners across multiple industries, but I want to laser my focus on the Social Workers’ space. I know that most of us have the proper ethics and values, and in turn, will run more fiscally responsible companies for the betterment of society.
