What I Write About

Don’t Allow Victory to Defeat You

Not all young adults that end up on the wrong track or fall short in life, come from rough beginnings. Not all of them come from struggle. Some of the kids that end up in some of the worst circumstances actually come from privilege. Some of them grew up in a sheltered childhood, got everything easy, and never really had to struggle or work hard for anything. Some of them are accustomed to having everything at their fingertips and not having to go the extra mile for it.

That type of childhood develops an individual that lives with a sense of entitlement. He feels that everything should come easy, he doesn’t think he should really have to work hard to get what he wants out of life. He therefore doesn’t prepare for life’s challenges the way he really should.

Life doesn’t care! Life could care less about your upbringing! What are you bringing to the table now!? Unless you strap up your boots and tighten your belt life will BREAK YOU!

It’s up to you where you end up in life, so don’t let your past victories defeat you!

Do What You Want, Do What You Love!

Life is short, definitely too short to live it doing something that you don’t enjoy doing. You have to find your purpose, find your passion, find your gift and go at it with your all. It will NOT be easy. You will fall on your face numerous times, but that’s part of the journey! Embrace the struggles and embrace the difficulties! It is only through struggle that we can grow. Welcome all of the difficulties that you can, the more difficulties you face without quitting, the closer you will get to perfecting your craft.

Related: Risk vs Reward

There will be lots of negativity along the way. There will be many people who don’t believe in you and will constantly try to discourage you. They love to see you struggle and pray for the day that you quit. If you quit, they will definitely win. You cannot allow the haters and dream killers to prevent you from chasing your dreams. They will make jokes about you, they will make sarcastic comments, they will dismiss your ideas before they even fully hear them. Don’t be the weak person that allows this to get under your skin and get you down. They will constantly say that you can’t do it. Utilize their disbelief in you as the fuel to prove that you CAN. The best revenge against dream killers and negative people is MASSIVE SUCCESS!

If you really want to be successful at what you love you WILL succeed. Yes, there will be disappointments and failures will happen along the way, but failures are a necessary ingredient on the road to success. You need to taste failure before you can savor the taste of success. Be a humble loser until you win, and then be a humble winner. Don’t allow it to go to your head when you achieve success because you won’t be the talk of town forever. You must KEEP working hard and grinding! You have to continuously hustle to become better than you currently are.

Related: Get Uncomfortable

Success is allergic to average. The average person quits after just a few failures. Don’t be average or you will never experience the greatness of success. Push and push and push. Be persistent! Don’t give up and prove yourself worthy of success, but before you consider yourself a success you must have positively affected the lives of others. If you want it bad enough you’ll make it happen, if you don’t, you’ll make an excuse!

Risk vs Reward

What are you willing to risk in order to get your reward.  Small risks result in small rewards. Keep on just sticking your toe in the water and you’ll never experience the abundance waiting on you in the deep end. If you REALLY want to experience the optimal rewards of success, the key is that you MUST be willing to do what’s necessary and dive in head first!

Dream of what you want, set ambitious goals to reach that dream, be courageous enough to risk what most aren’t willing to do that you’ll be able to have the things they won’t be able to.

Go Live a Life of Purpose, because Your Legacy Begins Now!

Your Legacy Begins Now

Don’t make a New Year’s “Resolution” for 2016

The new year is upon us and people are scratching their heads trying to decide what to do for their New Year’s Resolution.  Many of those same people were doing the exact same thing one year ago today, and what’s sadder is that the likelihood of them making the same resolution this year is extremely high. The whole concept of the New Year’s Resolution has become extremely synonymous with failure; so much so, that I refuse to make one. Instead, I make a continual and reinforced commitment that carries on from the initiation of my redirected life that started nearly four years ago.

With the new year comes new days, week and months, and…..that’s about it. You will be the same person tomorrow that you are today. You will live in the same house, drive the same car and work at the same job. If you are miserable today you will be miserable tomorrow. If you’re lazy today you will be lazy tomorrow, and if you are a quitter today you will be a quitter tomorrow! Don’t lie on the new year saying it’s going to bring you all these glorious things, but cause it is NOT bringing you crap…unless you change.

The new person comes from the new mindset. The new house, car, and career comes with the new mindset. The new personality and outlook on life and it’s possibilities come with the NEW MINDSET! Please stop doing the same thing and thinking the same way over and over and over again but expecting a different outcome! That is the definition of insanity. Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to begin the process of changing your mindset, and that is what will aid in the positive change in everything else.

So analyze your life and your thought process today, (December 31st 2015) so that once 2016 rolls around you will be in the right frame of mind to capitalize on every opportunity placed before you.

Dream big then take massive action towards your destination. Don’t wait too long, because Your Legacy Begins NOW!

Go live a life of purpose in 2016.

Thankful for the Holiday Seasons

During this holiday season, just as most, I would like to give thanks for all I that I have been blessed with.

First, I give thanks to the Highest and All Mighty for allowing me to live the life that I live, at the capacity which I live it. I thank Him for my strength and intelligence to capitalize on the opportunities that He places before me, I thank Him for all the blessings He has planned for my future and definitely thank him for giving me my positive and optimistic outlook on life.

Second, I want to give thanks for my family which is currently three states away spending the holidays with my wife’s side. I’m thankful for the joy they bring me, the challenges they bring me and the opportunity to work hard at setting up and providing for a positive wonderful future for them.

Third, I give thanks for my parents who directly and indirectly instilled so many values in me that have developed me into who I am and continue to develop me into who I will become.

Lastly, I want to give thanks for all you friends and associates who have been and continue to be supportive and encouraging forces in my life’s endeavors; and at the same time I am thankful for all you negative people who do not believe in my dreams, who doubt my abilities, who do not support me even after you act as if and even saying that you will support me. I thank you for being a source of indirect motivation for me to become more than you could ever imagine.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Happy Holidays

Present Yourself as a Prospect, not a Suspect.

During my 30+ years living in a few different cities throughout the world I have seen my share of fashion when it comes to the male population. In the United States we are permitted an abundance of freedoms which people in many other countries are not as fortunate to enjoy. One of those freedoms is the freedom of expression which allows a broad range of ways by which one may demonstrate their individuality.

Most of us form the foundation of our preference in attire coming up through childhood and adolescents, and our parents usually playing a big role in influencing these choices. Overall most parents want their children to represent themselves in a way which will allow them grow up to be a successful person with limitless opportunities, but at the same time they want their children to be free to develop their own way in which they represents themselves in regards to their appearance. These youthful years are a great time to be free to express themselves in whichever they  feel best, but they must keep in mind what they want become in life and what they want to attract to their life.

We must encourage our youth to present themselves in a manner that will attract the right attention to them. The world knows and judges us by what they can see. If people see you dressing in a stereotypical suspicious way they are going to apply stereotypical treatment to you (I need not go into specifics on this statement). If people see you dressed in a distinguished and dignified way they are more apt to treat you as a distinguished and dignified individual.

I’m not trying to dictate how anyone dresses nor am I trying to criticize anyone for their preference in attire, but I have seen and experienced how people are treated differently based on the way that they present themselves. So let’s allow our youth to enjoy their freedom of expression, but let’s also teach our youth to know how to present themselves as prospects instead of suspects so that they will gain the opportunities and respect that they truly deserve and that will allow them to some day fulfill their potential.
