Not all young adults that end up on the wrong track or fall short in life, come from rough beginnings. Not all of them come from struggle. Some of the kids that end up in some of the worst circumstances actually come from privilege. Some of them grew up in a sheltered childhood, got everything easy, and never really had to struggle or work hard for anything. Some of them are accustomed to having everything at their fingertips and not having to go the extra mile for it.
That type of childhood develops an individual that lives with a sense of entitlement. He feels that everything should come easy, he doesn’t think he should really have to work hard to get what he wants out of life. He therefore doesn’t prepare for life’s challenges the way he really should.
Life doesn’t care! Life could care less about your upbringing! What are you bringing to the table now!? Unless you strap up your boots and tighten your belt life will BREAK YOU!
It’s up to you where you end up in life, so don’t let your past victories defeat you!
– Inpsired by Eric Thomas
Life is short, definitely too short to live it doing something that you don’t enjoy doing. You have to find your purpose, find your passion, find your gift and go at it with your all. It will NOT be easy. You will fall on your face numerous times, but that’s part of the journey! Embrace the struggles and embrace the difficulties! It is only through struggle that we can grow. Welcome all of the difficulties that you can, the more difficulties you face without quitting, the closer you will get to perfecting your craft.

There will be lots of negativity along the way. There will be many people who don’t believe in you and will constantly try to discourage you. They love to see you struggle and pray for the day that you quit. If you quit, they will definitely win. You cannot allow the haters and dream killers to prevent you from chasing your dreams. They will make jokes about you, they will make sarcastic comments, they will dismiss your ideas before they even fully hear them. Don’t be the weak person that allows this to get under your skin and get you down. They will constantly say that you can’t do it. Utilize their disbelief in you as the fuel to prove that you CAN. The best revenge against dream killers and negative people is MASSIVE SUCCESS!
If you really want to be successful at what you love you WILL succeed. Yes, there will be disappointments and failures will happen along the way, but failures are a necessary ingredient on the road to success. You need to taste failure before you can savor the taste of success. Be a humble loser until you win, and then be a humble winner. Don’t allow it to go to your head when you achieve success because you won’t be the talk of town forever. You must KEEP working hard and grinding! You have to continuously hustle to become better than you currently are.

Success is allergic to average. The average person quits after just a few failures. Don’t be average or you will never experience the greatness of success. Push and push and push. Be persistent! Don’t give up and prove yourself worthy of success, but before you consider yourself a success you must have positively affected the lives of others. If you want it bad enough you’ll make it happen, if you don’t, you’ll make an excuse!
Nearly all of us desire to be a success in life. Not all of us seek to achieve that success by the same means, but nonetheless we want to be a success. The hard truth is that most people have no clue how to be a success. Most people have not been exposed to sufficient leadership and therefore do not know what is necessary for the attainment of a successful life. With the proper leadership you will learn the dos and don’ts of business.
Here’s a list of 7 things to give up before you can achieve success.
1. People Pleasing
In the game of life there is a time and place for everything. Some people get pure satisfaction out of making everyone that they come across happy. Depending on what part of the country or world you are raised will determine this. Many people in the southern United States are raised to never do anything to offend others, never say anything rude about a person in their presence and to put on your best smile even when you don’t like the person. Well that works fine in day-to-day life with people who you have familial or close acquaintance with, but when it comes to reaching goals and getting to the next level in life you have to use a firm upper lip at times. There comes times when you have to give constructive criticism to people that they do not want to hear or dismiss people from your business or company due to their holding your success back. It’s not fun to offend or hurt other people’s feelings but if you plan to make progress in life you can’t always do that which makes people feel good.
2. Doubting Yourself
On the road to success we will face numerous difficulties, but honestly, if it was easy everyone would do it. So man of us look at other successful people and automatically assume that their success came overnight, they had natural talents, or everything just worked out the right way for them. Those assumptions are true almost…0% of the time. The only difference between them and you is the fact that they believe a lot stronger and bigger than you. When you doubt your ability to accomplish a thing you are programming your brain to validate that doubt and eventually manifest it if you don’t change your though processing. A great book for self doubters is The Magic of Believing, by Claude Bristol. It was frequently stated by world-renowned speaker, Zig Ziglar that “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are probably right.” I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. You must believe in yourself when no one else does. If you let off any degree of self-doubt in the presence of potential customers or business partners they will catch whiff of it and not want anything to do with you.
3. Negative Thinking
This one goes along with number 2. Our society is inundated with negativity. Turn on the television and all you hear is news about who what plane went down or which company has filed bankruptcy. Pick up a newspaper and on the front cover is an update on the how bad the economy is and how many people are unemployed. It is nearly impossible to live in this world and not be polluted with negative messages on a regular basis unless you lock yourself up away from the public and refrain from all forms informational media. That’s obviously senseless to even consider so what you NEED to do it learn to be a positive thinker. Regardless of your circumstances you MUST be able to put a positive spin on it if you desire to be successful in life. In business it is very easy to become discouraged upon facing unfavorable interaction with others in regards to your business’s products or opportunity. Another successful speaker, Jim Rohn would say “The same winds blow on us all, but where you arrive is the set of your sail.” We all have adverse things happen to us, but the ones of us who succeed are the ones of us who refrain from complaining and just take action to better the situation. One thing that keeps me positive is: If it’s within your capacity to fix the issue or rectify the situation then do it, if you can’t do anything about it then get over it. There is no use to getting all negative about with your complaints and worries.
4. Fear of Failure
Let me be straight forward with this one. If you are afraid to fail then you have already lost at life. No one who reaches any level of success got there by taking the easy route. You must be willing to fail and you must also cherish temporary small failures so that you can really enjoy the pleasure of succeeding. It must be understood that failing doesn’t make you a failure.
You only become a failure when you don’t go at it again after you fall short. Some of the most memorable figures through
history failed countless more times than they succeeded, the thing is though, people remember the success, not the failures. You must persist through the difficulties and never give up on your pursuit.
5. Criticizing Yourself
There is constructive criticism and there is destructive criticism. We all need constructive criticism from others in order to better ourselves, but we don’t need to criticize ourselves for every little thing that doesn’t go as planned or for being turned away time after time. Criticizing yourself falls in the same ballpark as negative thinking. There will already be enough people looking in from outside of your life that are locked and loaded ready to criticize you. They don’t need your help.
6. Saying Yes When You Want To Say No
Along with number 1, this one can be chalked up as Southerner’s Syndrome. If you aren’t from the South you may not understand, but it’s instilled in the South to never say things that may hurt the feelings of others. Well you can either flush that notion down the toilet or let any future success fly out the window. You may not be siding with a yes just to prevent from hurting someone’s feelings, instead you may be overly confident with your skills and abilities to multitask. In the direct sales and network marketing industry many rookies jump from opportunity to opportunity because they don’t know how to say no. I made the mistake of saying yes when I wanted to say no on a couple of occasions early in my career and ended up losing money or harming friendships. Eventually I learned how to say no without being offensive and learned to teach others to do the same (info in future blog).
This one was saved for last for a reason. Procrastination is the reason for so many missed opportunities. So many people are saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow; Maybe next week; I’ll be ready next month.” One of the best quotes I have heard in regards to procrastination was stated by Eric Thomas: “You have to take advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime in the lifetime of the opportunity.” When you wait to take action you are leaving money on the table and leaving the door open for someone else to come long and take what is meant for you. If not now then when, if not you then who? In achieving success most anyone knows you must set goals. When you are a procrastinator it’s nearly impossible to meet your goals. Procrastinating helps you improve your skill of making excuses, aides in poor decision-making and ruins your reputation. Lastly, the MOST important resource that you have is time and procrastinating is the #1 killer of time.
